Saying Goodbye

Today we say goodbye to the place we’ve called home for the last four years.

We moved to Albertville/Boaz right after I graduated from JSU for a teaching job. After that chapter closed, we decided to stay anyway and turn Boaz into our home. It’s where we bought our first home, brought our bus home, and made family and friends we will never forget.

Now we’re off to a new adventure.

Leaving today seems so surreal. I think it will be a while before it clicks that we no longer have a house to come back to. 😳 But this is the real deal now, and there’s no turning back.

All the preparations have been made. The house is clean and has been turned over to a property manager (hit up Caldwell Bankers in Albertville if you know someone who wants to rent a super cute 3-bedroom house 😍), my car has been sold, our mail has been forwarded, and we’ve said our goodbyes.

I don’t know when we’ll be back. That’s part of the beauty of having a house with wheels – we’ll just go where the road takes us. But I can’t help but feel a little bittersweet leaving this town and the family that we’ve made behind.

So, to all if you Sand Mountain people reading – we love you and we’ll come back to visit. Just look for the bus driving down 431. 🚌
